About Us

How we began

Legend Microfinance Bank Nigeria Limited was originally established in 1992 as Inisa Community Bank Limited – a Limited Liability concern with Registration Certificate number 205591. The company was established to carry out grassroots banking business within Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State.

 In 2008, the Central Bank of Nigeria licensed it as a Microfinance outfit in compliance with the Federal Government of Nigeria policy on Micro Credit – Licence Number 000102 of December 2008. It was one of the community banks that successfully converted into a full-fledged Microfinance bank in Osun State.

In 2017, Legend Microfinance Bank became the first unit Microfinance bank to roll out ATM cards for it’s customer usage
In the last five years the Bank had grown to become one of the best run Microfinance outfit within the state. During the conversion period, Legend Microfinance Bank was able to acquire three other Community Banks which became branches of our bank with its Head Office at Inisa. 

The former Ile-Ogbo Community Bank as well as Kuta Community Bank both in Ayedire Local Government Area of Osun State were acquired then in addition to the former Igbaye Community Bank in Odo-Otin Local Government area of the state. 

Thereafter, a federal policy change, which re-categorized microfinance banks to three (namely National, State, and Unit Microfinance Banks) came into force. We, as a Unit Microfinance Bank was therefore restrained to operate external branches outside our immediate local government but alternatively allowed to run agency business arrangements in any chosen community to drive our rural outreach and financial inclusion programmes. This is principally aimed at ensuring sound monitoring and efficiency.

At present, we have our main office at Inisa, one branch and three other Customer Service Centres, all across Osun State.
